GPU Acceleration#

Since the 3LC Dashboard employs advanced 2D and 3D rendering technologies, it benefits significantly from the use of a discrete GPU. Discrete GPUs are available in many modern laptops, which often come equipped with both an integrated graphics processor (optimized for low-power usage) and a discrete GPU (designed for high-performance tasks such as graphics rendering). For optimal performance, it is recommended to configure your browser to utilize the discrete GPU. Failure to do so may severely affect the responsiveness of the 3LC Dashboard.

Windows Configuration#

On Windows, GPU settings can be adjusted by navigating to:

Settings -> System -> Display -> Graphics Settings

Here, you can specify GPU preferences on a per-application basis. Ensure that the browser you use for accessing the 3LC Dashboard is set to “High Performance.”

Checking the GPU settings#

To ensure that your browser is utilizing hardware acceleration, you can check its settings:

  • Chrome: Type chrome://gpu in the address bar and confirm that WebGL is listed as “Hardware accelerated.”

  • Edge: Type edge://gpu in the address bar and confirm that WebGL is listed as “Hardware accelerated.”
